Banking Commissioner State of Connecticut
A University of New Haven alumnus and community activist, Connecticut Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez served on New Haven’s Board of Alders, including as President from 2000-2006. He helped mobilize the city’s efforts to promote affordable housing, school reform, youth services, ethics, and social justice. He sat on the boards of the Community Action Agency of Greater New Haven and Habitat for Humanity and Hill Development Corporation of New Haven. He is a member of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. He helped establish New Haven Works and currently chairs its Board.
