Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center celebrated the grand opening of its new 31,000 square-foot Recovery and Wellness Center  in New Haven. The project, ten years in the making, was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by state and city leaders. This new facility aims to provide stigma-free care, offering a comprehensive array of services including intensive outpatient treatment, primary medical, dental, and pediatric care, and a short-term therapeutic living environment for individuals battling substance use and co-occurring mental health issues.

Daena Murphy, the program director, emphasized the importance of immediate access to care, particularly given the rising demand for behavioral health services in New Haven. The center will house 52 inpatient beds and support hundreds more on an outpatient basis, serving not only New Haven but also surrounding communities.
